Our relationship model is your San Antonio passport to global access.
The department serves as the city’s official foreign affairs liaison
with the diplomatic corps, government, educational and cultural
organizations.  We advise elected city officials, department
representatives, and the business community on international protocol
and provide training on cross-cultural communications and etiquette.
As a result of long standing efforts, San Antonio was Awarded Sister
Cities International's Best Overall Program Award for large cities at
      its 50th Anniversary Conference.

Sister Cities
San Antonio’s Sister Cities have brought cultural enrichment to our diverse community while paving the way for significant economic development. Exchange sponsorships have been a community-wide effort in area schools, ethnic organizations, corporations and citizen groups.   Many of these relationships have initiated by these local organizations and have sponsored programs along with their counterparts in the corresponding Sister City.

Official San Antonio Gifts
In partnership with San Antonio native and fashion designer Marisol Deluna, three silk products were concieved to commemorate San Antonio's character and style.  The two ties incorporate San Antonio's old and new to celebrate our communities unique identity.  The scarf characterizes many of the sites and scenes that make San Antonio unique around the world.  Proceeds of the sale of these official gifts are reinvested to provide gifts for visiting dignataries.
